Questions
Questions about working with Itzel
If yours isn't here, ask it at the consultation, or write it on the contact form.
Is a consultation confidential?
Yes. What you tell me stays between us, whether or not you hire me. I don't report anyone to immigration.
Are you a notario?
No. I'm a licensed attorney. In the U.S., a notary public can't give immigration advice or file your case, and paying one can hurt your case. Ask anyone who offers to help for their bar number.
Who at the office speaks Spanish?
I do, and so does Araceli, who answers the phone and schedules consultations. Every meeting and every letter can be in Spanish.
Can we meet on a Saturday?
Yes, Saturday mornings by appointment. Video meetings are possible in the evening too.
What does a consultation cost?
It has a set fee, which Araceli tells you when you book. If you hire me, it counts toward your case.
Can I pay in installments?
For most cases, yes. The payment plan is part of the written agreement, so you know every amount and date.
I'm undocumented. Is it safe to call?
Yes. Calling a lawyer doesn't put you on any list, and I don't share what you tell me.
Someone in my family was detained. What do I do?
Call at any hour. Have their full name, date of birth and A-number if you know it, and I'll find where they're held.
Do you take cases outside Dallas?
Yes. Immigration is federal, so I can help families anywhere in the U.S. Most of my clients live in Dallas, Tarrant, Collin and Denton counties.
What if my case can't be won?
I'll tell you plainly, at the consultation, and I won't take a fee for a case I don't believe in.
Still have a question?
Araceli can answer most of them on the phone, in English or Spanish.
